Every time I tried to dive into it, I was enchanted by Lady Frieda Harris’ beautiful imagery of the deck and so wanted to use it.
The first taot consists of an introduction to the background philosophy behind the Thoth Tarot and is by far the best section of the Book. I gave a couple of Running goes at Croweley’s own book on his Thoth tsrot, and slogged patiently and then skimmed mightily. This book is not a one time read through, to be sure.

Crowley’s “Book of Thoth” is a masterful work on Thelema, but not so great as accompaniment to the tarot deck. That said I have a massive fascination with his works. This is not only a good introduction to his Tarot Deck, its a great introduction to Crowley’s thought and philosophy. He is such a wonderful guide to explore this subject with.
I suppose I would recommend it to a beginner who finds “The Book of Thoth” way too difficult. I also strongely suggest reading the Book of Thoth after you read this. Ive met 3 other people who have gone thotn this.
It sets the scene perfectly for the deck and is easy to follow. Well, maybe he did, but the alternative of reading Croweley is so dense and chewy that I still think its a five star book. If you want something to clarify Crowley’s book, this is the one to go with.
Definitely a very pinpoint tarot book This is a very good companion book to the Thoth deck, my next one will be the book of Thoth before I start using the deck. His description of these start on page and its a familiar pattern. I love the changes he has made in the major arcana and most of all I love how he has given each minor arcana card a title, as this is a Major upgrade from the rider waite.
My heart is now elsewhere. Then, if you enjoy over top prose and, well, the voice of Aleister Crowley, then read The Book of Thoth: This seems like an honest and good commentary for the Thoth deck.

This pattern repeats to varying degrees throughout the minor arcana cards. I like how he makes complicated, obscure, tedious ramblings of Croweley comprehensible to me, and even practical and wonderful.
If you are just starting out in tarot or metaphysics this book might be too heavy for you, but the information he clarifies helps create a base to those who started with Waite-Smith style decks. Also, after reading, I feel I actually understand The Book of Thoth to a degree, meaning I can read it and can figure out what is being said through the symbolism.
The tarott demystify Crowley and gives the necessary background to start to understand the deck. And keep loon the cards and developing a relashionship with them in terms of how you relate to what they represent and the areas of life they apply to typically. There are many useful facts about the Thoth Tarot herein that everyone ought to know, who uses that deck. A good work on the foundational understanding of the tarot and it’s relation to qabalah and astrology.
